Mediation in the workplace is an essential tool to address disputes, personality clashes and vastly different management styles. External mediators are completely independent and objective

Mediation is a voluntary process where the aim is to reach a solution to a dispute that all parties can agree to. We believe that mediation should be accessible to all disputes irrespective of their size or complexity, and whether between managers and those managed or between colleagues.

We specialise in medical, scientific and educational establishments, charities and local government. Our backgrounds are in the public sector, science, the trade unions, coaching and development.

COVID has changed the workplace and created hybrid working. Returning to the office may be welcomed by some while others may be reluctant to return and wary of interacting face to face. There may also be cuts in staffing and new management structures. A reduction in staff turn over, less waste on re-training and more productivity are direct consequences of successful mediation. Employees are able to turn to mediation as a forum for objective, impartial and safe discussion and exchange of views. The process is confidential and will not be used in any other internal or external procedures such as grievance or disciplinary cases or at an Employment tribunal.

Mediation skills in a workforce can prevent disputes from escalating. We are often asked to provide training in these kind of skills.
